CALCOMOVIDA VOL.1

2021 Madrid.

Curatorial project. Event. Artistic intervention. Performance. Tattoo. Market

Calcomovida is born as a space for collaboration, reunion, and community building. Commissioned by Antonio Gomez Delgado (@antonio.etiquetas) as part of the artistic residency “Romper en caso de”, funded by the Community of Madrid in 2021.

The first edition of this curatorial project took place at “La Parcería,” a venue known as a hub for creation and a safe space for migrants and marginalized communities in Madrid.

Calcomovida is conceived as a scene revitalizer. Its interdisciplinary nature brings together artistic expressions such as tattoo, design, music, and collective performance. It emerged from the need to create a space to take over areas often masculinized, where women, queer, and femme bodies are silenced or overlooked. The event was led entirely by femmes—tattoo artists, DJs, and creators brought their energy to the local scene.

The building was divided into two floors. On the ground floor, the DJ set was carried out by the all-femme DJ girl band B2BBS (@niki___lauda, @acidheaven, and @elena.buganvilia) during their first-ever show in Madrid. The set was live-streamed on YouTube and simultaneously projected onto the walls of the top floor, where tattoo artists @polvo.eres, @triplee_v, and @nightmerss set up a studio under the theme of Music. Their flash designs for the event were displayed on the walls, so visitors could pick one and get inked while enjoying the action downstairs. Fashion creator @teknologyas had a market space selling their designs, and other objects from the artists were also available for purchase.

Throughout the event, the team printed real-time photos of the experience, which were displayed in the hall. Visitors could then intervene with the tools provided, adding their own mark to the images.

Calcomovida is about play and collective intervention—it’s alive, fun, and endless. The format can be replicated in future editions with different themes, but always with a focus on empowering women and queer artists.
